If it has just happened: three steps
Keep the engine off
Do not start the engine or switch on the ignition – not even to move away from the pump.
Keep the driver door shut if you can
On some cars the fuel pump starts when the driver door opens. Get in from the passenger side if you need to.
Stay safe and call
Hazard lights on. At a station tell the staff; on the road wear a hi-vis vest and wait behind the barrier. Then call +49 761 59415165.
What happens next
Only in the tank
If the engine has not run, draining and fresh diesel are usually enough.
Engine ran briefly
The mix is in filter and lines. We drain, flush and change the filter if needed.
Engine ran for long
Without lubrication the pump can shed debris into the injectors. A workshop is then usually needed.
How the job works

Engineer on the way
A technician drives to you in a fully equipped service van.

Common questions
Does insurance pay?
Usually not: in Germany partial cover (Teilkasko) excludes misfuelling, and many comprehensive policies do too. Check your terms.
Which language is the phone line?
The phone line is run in German. Have your vehicle, fuel type and location ready – short answers are enough.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the vehicle, the amount and whether the engine ran. You get a quote on the phone before we set off.
What is petrol called in Germany?
Super E5, Super E10 and Super Plus are petrol. Diesel is labelled B7, B10 or XTL with a square symbol.
